Winston Peters Visits Australia Next Week

New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister to meet with Australian officials.

New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister and Racing Minister Winston Peters will embark on an official visit to Australia next week, from November 5-6. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen ties between New Zealand and its closest partner.

During his trip, Mr. Peters will engage in various programmes, including meetings with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Victoria Premier Jacinta Allen, and Victoria Governor Margaret Gardner. He will also attend the Raisina Down Under conference alongside Ministers Wong and Jaishankar to discuss regional trends and cooperation.

In addition to his official engagements, Mr. Peters will visit Melbourne to attend the Melbourne Cup as a guest of the Victoria Racing Club. The New Zealand racing industry contributes significantly to the country's economy, with almost $2 billion in value-added contributions and sustaining 14,000 full-time equivalent jobs.

The Deputy Prime Minister's visit is part of New Zealand's efforts to strengthen its engagement with India for mutual benefit and explore opportunities for increased collaboration between the two countries.
