Energy Minister Simeon Brown has announced two new appointments to the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (EECA) Board.
John Carnegie and Vijay Goel will join the board, bringing expertise in the energy sector, governance, and business. Their three-year terms begin on 6 January 2025 and end on 5 January 2028. The minister aims to ensure New Zealand has a reliable and competitive energy mix, with efficient energy use and effective conservation measures.
The appointments aim to drive value for money at EECA, with Mr Brown thanking former members Albert Brantley and Karen Sherry QSM for their service. The new appointees' backgrounds will add valuable skills and perspectives to the board, supporting its efforts in promoting sustainable energy practices throughout New Zealand.
