New Zealand's charitable efforts to be showcased nationwide.
The 'Twelve Days of Giving' campaign was launched today by Philanthropy New Zealand, alongside Community and Voluntary Sector Minister Louise Upston. The initiative aims to promote philanthropic giving across the country, with estimated annual donations reaching $3.8 billion.
Minister Upston highlighted the importance of government, businesses, and communities working together to support and grow these efforts. "Every time someone donates, volunteers, or gives their time and expertise, our communities are better for it," she said.
The campaign will run from December 2nd to 17th on social media, coinciding with Giving Tuesday and International Volunteer Day. It will feature stories and educational content showcasing different avenues of giving and how individuals and organisations can contribute nationwide.
A significant aspect of the 'Twelve Days of Giving' is promoting education and awareness around charitable giving. "By showcasing different ways of giving, we hope to inspire others to engage in charitable giving," Minister Upston said.
