Nineteen individuals awarded Prime Minister's Scholarships for education in Asia and Latin America.
Tertiary Education and Skills Minister Penny Simmonds announced that 119 New Zealanders have been awarded the Prime Minister’s Scholarships to pursue education experiences abroad. The scholarships, aimed at strengthening global connections with Asia and Latin America, will enable recipients to study and intern in various countries including Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, and Brazil.
The scholarship recipients hail from across New Zealand and will engage in semester exchanges, language immersion programmes, internships, research projects, and other initiatives over the next year. Education Minister Simmonds emphasized that these scholarships foster an exchange of ideas, culture, and expertise between New Zealand and its international partners, while showcasing the strength of the country's education system.
The 324 applications received for this round highlight the growing enthusiasm for international education in New Zealand.
