Prime Minister appoints new business representative.
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has appointed Sarah Ottrey to the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC). This move comes after Mr Luxon's experience at the APEC Summit in Lima, where he witnessed firsthand the role of ABAC in ensuring that business voices are heard by political leaders. The New Zealand representatives on ABAC have earned a reputation for being well-respected and providing a platform for the country's business community to shape regional economic outcomes.
Sarah Ottrey brings extensive experience working with export-focused companies and has knowledge of the dynamic Asia-Pacific business environment. As Chair of Christchurch Airport and Whitestone Cheese Company, she has demonstrated leadership skills in various roles and memberships. She will commence her term on 1 January, joining Anna Curzon and Brett O'Riley as New Zealand's representatives on ABAC. The outgoing member, Rachel Taulelei, is being thanked for four years of service on the council.
