NZ Hosts Singapore Food Security Delegation

New Zealand welcomes key visitors.

Minister for Trade and Agriculture Todd McClay recently welcomed a delegation from Singapore, who were in New Zealand to discuss food security. The visit is aimed at strengthening trade ties between the two countries and showcasing New Zealand's expertise in providing high-quality food products.

According to McClay, this mission will elevate the role of New Zealand's agri-food ecosystem in supporting Singapore's long-term food security needs. Delegates visited key New Zealand food businesses and organisations, highlighting the country's capabilities in producing safe, sustainable food products.

This visit strengthens strategic trade ties between New Zealand and Singapore, a relationship that is underpinned by NZ$9.92 billion of trade. The delegation arrived in Auckland on 1 December and departed on 6 December, marking an important milestone in the two countries' diplomatic relations.

The mission aligns with New Zealand's goal of doubling its export value within the next decade, as stated by McClay. By leveraging Singapore as a key partner, New Zealand can expand its global reach while promoting economic growth and stability.
