Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Winston Peters.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Winston Peters, is set to embark on a European trip next week, where he will engage in high-level talks with France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. This visit aims to reinforce New Zealand's diplomatic relationships with its traditional partners.
Since taking office almost a year ago, Mr Peters has emphasized the importance of these relationships, citing the increasingly complex global environment as a reason for their significance. "At a time when the world is becoming increasingly complex and contested, it is more important than ever that we reinforce these crucial relationships," he said.
Mr Peters will visit Paris, Berlin, and London from November 23 to December 1, meeting with his Foreign Minister counterparts and other officials along the way. He will also deliver a speech at the Institut français des relations internationales in Paris. The trip is expected to strengthen ties between New Zealand and its European allies, solidifying its position on the world stage.
