Dr Tulloch Joins FENZ Board

New appointment aims to enhance accountability.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Brooke van Velden, has announced Dr Daniel Tulloch's appointment to the Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) board. The three-year term will see Dr Tulloch bring his expertise in sustainable finance, financial stewardship, sustainability, and risk management to the role.

As a seasoned professional director and adviser, Dr Tulloch has an extensive background in both public and private sectors. His experience includes senior roles at the Commerce Commission and Treasury, where he provided guidance on strategic planning, financial management, asset governance, and cultural alignment. The appointment aims to support FENZ's efforts to meet expectations of fiscal prudence and high standards of service delivery.

The FENZ board is responsible for governing and overseeing the emergency services provider, which receives funding from insurance policyholders and the Crown. Dr Tulloch's appointment comes as part of broader efforts to increase accountability within the organisation, including a planned rate increase on insurance policyholders and expected savings of $60 million over three years.
