Diplomats Appointed To Key Posts

Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters has made four key diplomatic appointments.

New Zealand's Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters has announced the appointment of four senior diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The new ambassadors will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing New Zealand's interests across the world.

According to Mr Peters, "Our diplomats play an important role in ensuring New Zealand’s interests are maintained and enhanced across the world." He has expressed his pleasure at announcing these appointments.

The appointed ambassadors include Jonathan Austin, who will serve as Ambassador to the People's Republic of China; Phillip Taula, Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia; Greg Lewis, Ambassador to the Republic of Türkiye; and Joanna Anderson, Ambassador to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (based in Jakarta).

These appointments are effective immediately. The diplomats' roles are crucial in fostering New Zealand's international relationships and promoting the country's interests abroad.
